Paid subscriptions to my blog are now available for $5,000/month, or $60,000/year (a savings of nothing).
I’ve set this up in order to model my Substack in the fashion of my idealized vision for society: a deeply unequal, two-class system comprised of the subscribed and the subscribed-nots, whereby the fundamental resources at play — gifts of knowledge and indicators of status — are distributed solely and generously to those deemed worthy, while the rest toil and suffer; bereft of grace, tarnished; cursed to weep and to gnash and to go about their sordid lives in whichever way they see fit, far from the gilded halls of my own making.1
Run-on sentences.
Additionally (and this is quite far down on the list of motivators; a footnote of a footnote, really), this setup allows me to relegate certain posts (such as those where I bare my soul and reveal things that, frankly, I should not be revealing) to a private group of family and friends (to whom I will be giving free “paid” subscriptions), such that my most private thoughts are not being shared with the internet at large.
This blog was good before it went mainstream. Most of us just can't afford $5,000/month and I think it's disgusting that authors like Josh take their audience for granted like this.
Ok I am loaded and want to subscribe. How do I do this?
